The Golden Globes love the international films and
international actors. They also seem to love the big names, which is why
I think this will be the place where Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, and
Robert Downey Jr. among others will get some love.
Doubt seems to be the typical
Golden Globe loves film, taking the spot that
About Schmidt,
Closer, and
Little Children have occupied
in the recent history. The Comedy/Musical category is always
interesting, and they almost always award a musical, which is why the
film that is probably the best one of the year (Cadillac
Records) will probably win the Best Picture in that category. There
are a ton of contenders in the Comedy/Musical acting categories, and I
think at least one of them will have more than 5 nominations. Also, I
don’t know where films like
Slumdog Millionaire will be placed, but as of right now it seems
like it will be billed as a drama. Well, here is what I think of the
race so far…
