The Future of Hollywood Leading Men and Women

This is an interesting case. Yelchin has already been in box office megahits Terminator Salvation and Star Trek. He starred in the cool indie Charlie Bartlett. His innocence and maturity in Alpha Dog combined to create a fully-developed and believable character, never getting lost in that big cast. He has the chops to be his own guy, a star if he so chooses. He has some promising films getting released in the next couple years, so we will see how he does. A comparison can be made to Anthony Michael Hall because that is who he appears to be at this point. If he does not grow up, he could suffer the same mediocrity that Hall did in his twenties. That is the pessimistic view of Yelchin’s talents. The optimistic view is Johnny Depp. I can see it at least, but maybe I am alone on that.
