Ulee's Gold (1997)

Ulee’s Gold is perhaps one of the most underrated films of the 1990s. It is a powerful little film (a little like In the Bedroom with beekeeping) that is brilliantly written and flawlessly acted. Patricia Richardson, most known for her role on Home Improvement, steals several of the scenes from Oscar-nominee Peter Fonda. She plays her character with a tremendous amount of heart and leaves a great impact. I never would have thought that Richardson could have pulled this performance out of her, but she really did deserve an Oscar nod for this.
