Rachel Griffiths is another one of the most underrated actresses working today. She is most known probably for her TV work on Brothers & Sisters and Six Feet Under, but her best performance was in the masterpiece Hilary and Jackie. It got her an Oscar nomination in the supporting actress category (should have been lead) for her masterful and beautiful performance as the titular character Hilary. So many critics and moviegoers fell for Emily Watson in the film, but she was completely outshined by the subtlety and intelligence of Griffith’s performance. This, along with her excellent work in Muriel’s Wedding, show that she has a wide range of talent. You can simply gaze into her eyes and see every emotion that her character is feeling. That is a tough trait to come by.
