Top to Bottom: Al Pacino
10.

Michael Corleone
The Godfather: Part III
(1990)
“I betrayed my wife. I betrayed myself. I've killed
men, and I ordered men to be killed. No, it's useless. I
killed... I ordered the death of my brother. He injured me.
I killed my mother's son. I killed my father's son.”
Now, the obvious
first question I had to ask myself when I decided to rank
Pacino was whether or not to group
The Godfather
films into one or have them separate. Granted, they are the
same character, but the performances are so different. By
the third installment, Michael Corleone has aged, which gave
Pacino the opportunity to act show off his pipes. He was a
bit more volatile in this film, showing a bit of fury and
some emotional depth, which almost made it seem as if this
Corleone was closer to Pacino in reality. Corleone is the
role of Pacino’s career, and this unrecognized and
underrated performance only cemented that truth.
