Top to Bottom: Al Pacino
9.

Jack Kevorkian
You Don’t Know Jack
(2010)
“Because it's my name. Because I
cannot have another in my life. Because I'm not worth the
dust on the feet of them that hang. How may I live without
my name? I've given you my soul. Leave me my name.”
It is good to know that 30 years after
his prime, Pacino can still give a performance that is as
good as any. His performance here is astonishing. It is
basically a one-man-show, and Pacino of course relishes in
that and is mesmerizing on screen. His character here is
full of harvested emotion and sadness. The controversy
surrounding the film’s subject only makes his performance
stand out even more, and the court scenes in particular are
really where Pacino does his thing. It is a sad performance,
and yet one that will get under your skin and stick with
you.
